Professional Education Specialist

The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) is seeking a Professional Education Specialist to work .8 FTE. Now in its 32nd year, MHIF is one of the leading non-profit cardiovascular research and education institutions in the country. The Foundation has an international reputation for its unique role in accelerating cardiovascular cures through innovating new treatments, proving the efficacy of new drugs and devices through clinical trials, applying research results to clinical practice and preventing heart disease and its complications.

 

The Professional Education Specialist will play a key role in planning, implementing and evaluating education programs in support of the mission of MHIF. This includes our Grand Rounds program for physicians, several annual conferences and our research intern program. This position coordinates faculty relations, monitors program budgets, and provides the highest level of customer service for all of our professional education customers. They will provide support for our summer research intern program and manage the accreditation process for conferences and programs.

 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience, a minimum of two years’ of experience in coordinating conferences and/or training programs and proven experience in using project management in conference planning and implementation. Experience in setting up web casts and intermediate to advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel are required. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in providing the highest level of customer service is a must. Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience with Learning Management Systems and have worked in a non-profit, medical education or health care organization.
