In Touch With Heart Health

Are you giving your heart the attention it deserves? Take time to participate in a program designed to help you learn more about your personal risks for developing heart disease and to encourage you to take steps toward positive change. After a general heart health screening, you will attend a follow-up presentation by a cardiologist and dietitian who will provide an overview of your current risk picture and share more detailed information on what you can do to improve your heart health.

Total Cost: $25 per person (includes both the complete heart health screening on February 16 and the evening program on February 28)
Location: Our Lady of Peace Church, 5425 11th Ave South, Minneapolis

Heart Health Screening
Saturday, February 16
7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Participants will complete the Heart Test™ questionnaire and blood screening (adults only). The blood test includes HDL, LDL, total cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose. The heart health screening will be offered by appointment only. A 12-hour fast is required for blood testing accuracy. Please limit your intake during this period to water and any prescribed medications. In addition, do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Thursday, February 28
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
What’s Your Risk Picture? Individual results of the heart health screening on February 16 will be distributed and explained with an emphasis on modifiable risk factors. Healthy Eating for a Healthy Heart: Assess your daily fat intake and learn of tasty, low-fat food choices and how to shop for them.
