Title: Lite-HEARTEN – How Exercise And Relaxation Techniques Impact ENdothelium in Women
Study Sponsor: Women’s Heart Health Program and Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation

Study Synopsis: Patients who have coronary artery disease may be at risk for future complications or additional cardiac events. Research has shown that people can reduce their cardiovascular disease risks by changing their lifestyle to control their cholesterol and blood pressure levels, increase physical activity and effectively using available resources and social support. The purpose of this study is to examine outcomes of subclinical markers of cardiovascular disease in women as a result of participation in 12-week program of: 1) exercise or 2) stress reduction and social support as compared to a 3) usual care control group.
Study Status: Open for enrollment
How do I qualify? Women must have physician-diagnosed coronary artery disease and be a patient at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital to qualify for the study.
