Ya Wen Lu

Dr. Ya Wen Lu joined the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center as an international scholar in August 2026.

Dr. Lu is an interventional cardiologist and attending physician at the Cardiovascular Center at Taichung Veterans General Hospital in Taiwan, where she also serves as an assistant professor of medicine. She earned her medical degree from National Yang-Ming University and recently completed a doctorate in clinical medicine at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Her training includes a cardiology residency and chief residency at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. She is board-certified in general medicine, internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Lu has an extensive research record, with numerous peer-reviewed publications on cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, aging, frailty and cardiovascular imaging. Her work has appeared in Cardiovascular Diabetology, Scientific Reports, BMC Geriatrics, Clinical Nutrition and PLOS ONE. She is a member of the Taiwan Society of General Medicine, Taiwan Society of Internal Medicine and Taiwan Society of Cardiology.

Throughout her career, Dr. Lu has received awards for excellence in research, teaching and interventional cardiology, including Outstanding Young Scholar Research Awards and first-place honors in national interventional cardiology case competitions.
