The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) is proud to recognize Dr. Kerollos Abdelsayed, MHIF’s Pierce International Scholar with the Joseph F. Novogratz Family Heart Rhythm Center, who was recently selected as a finalist for the Young Investigator Award – Clinical Cardiology from the European Heart Rhythm Association. His recognition reflects the strength of MHIF’s collaborative heart rhythm research community and its impact on patients worldwide.
Dr. Abdelsayed earned this distinction for his research, “The impact of mitigating perioperative inflammation on risk of conduction disturbances after transcatheter aortic valve implantation; is it time to coat the valve?” which explores innovative strategies to reduce conduction disturbances and improve outcomes for patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation. His work is part of the broader efforts of MHIF’s Joseph F. Novogratz Family Heart Rhythm Center, where our researchers and physicians work together to advance new approaches for preventing and treating heart rhythm disorders.
Dr. Abdelsayed is also part of MHIF’s International Scholar Program, which brings early-career physicians and researchers from around the world to Minneapolis to train alongside expert cardiologists and participate in cutting-edge cardiovascular research. This well-deserved honor underscores the impact of MHIF’s research and training programs in developing global leaders in heart and vascular care, and MHIF is proud to celebrate Dr. Abdelsayed’s achievements.
